When she runs into Boyd she thinks it may be nice to be around someone who was there that night. Even though Elizabeth was great, she was intimated by her. With Boyd, she was on more of an even playing field.I really liked this one. It’s one of those psychological thrillers that you’ll enjoy it! It’s well-written and fast-paced. Told in multiple POV, 3rd person. It’s a stand-alone novel. It was truly enjoyable for me and hope you like it, too! When we as children encounter sudden or chronic adversity, excessive stress hormones cause powerful changes in the body, altering our body chemistry. The developing immune system and brain react to this chemical barrage by permanently resetting our stress response to “high,” which in turn can have a devastating impact on our mental and physical health.
