FlightScope Mevo - Portable Personal Launch Monitor for Golf
About this deal
I’m pretty convinced that the most useful piece of golf tech isn’t a golf product at all, but rather the Apple Watch. Whether you’re using it as part of a GPS app like GolfLogix, or in conjunction with a product like Mevo or Arccos– I’ve been continually impressed with how well many of the Apple Watch integrations have been. While the Voice Caddie and Garmin offerings are self-contained, the other devices we tested require an app to communicate with the launch monitor and relay data to the user. We found the applications to be generally easy to navigate and hassle-free. Rapsodo is a perfect launch monitor to record your swing while getting some data. SkyTrak and Mevo Plus provide games, range sessions and courses to play, no matter the weather. Garmin G80 is not only a launch monitor but also a GPS device so you can get some numbers to your target and some data points. Smartphone/Tablet Apps
As the category suggests, camera-based launch monitors use high-definition cameras to measure ball data at, and immediately following, impact. While camera-based systems can’t measure the full flight of the golf ball, they typically provide more accurate axis tilt and spin measurements and are far more reliable in limited-flight scenarios. It would display the same data view that you customized on the device immediately after every shot you hit. When you’re hitting balls, the response from the Mevo is almost instantaneous. You’ll get the read-out you chose based on the above within a second or two of hitting your shot, and the user experience works really well.

The key thing when placing a golf simulator is the amount of space. Consider these measurement tips when putting a simulator into a room. Once your app is connected to the Mevo or Mevo Plus, you’ll go to settings. This is where you’ll input where you’re using the device (Short Indoor, Indoor, Outdoor), how far the Mevo is from the ball, and how much ball flight you have if you’re on Short Indoor. Inputting these parameters doesn’t take more than a minute. I found the app very intuitive, and pretty much anything I wanted to adjust could be done in the settings section.
For the easiest of setups, both Voice Caddie SC300, Voice Caddie SC300i and SC200 Plus get you practicing in no time. PRGR is easy to set up and collect data. Features There are plenty of simulators that offer the capability to play with a real golf ball. But, with a real golf ball, there is an essential need to buy an impact screen. These screens are made with durable material that allows maximum protection. OptiShot is one of the simulators that offer this feature. With that, you can play with a real ball, a foam ball, and no ball at all.
It’d be nice to have an easy way to say “oh, that was the perfect swing,” and then with a touch of a button star it for future reference or comparison.
When talking about the width of the room, consider whether lefties will be playing or do you have enough place to protect the wall. If there are both lefties and righties, then consider a room that is 15 feet wide. For as good as the device is, this isa fairly big detractor from me. I’d love to be able to see visual representations of where all of my shots landed, so that over time I can see that scatter plot get tighter and tighter. You can now use the Mevo on the FS Golf App. This is the app the Mevo Plus uses, and it solves all of those critiques I’ve just laid out.
