Games Workshop - Warhammer 40,000 - BOARDING PATROL: Orks
About this deal
Boarding Patrol: Orks provides a brutal and kunnin' force, perfectly suited to crushing ‘oomies and aliens alike in games of Warhammer 40,000 – especially in the dense and deadly Boarding Action missions detailed in the Arks of Omen series – and will save you money compared to buying the kits individually. If you’re looking to grow an army from this box you’ve got all the options to choose after the fact. This is another box that you could get 2 or 3 of and have a very solid core Necron army. This is a great generic box. There’s no special characters and all the units inside are scary in close combat. That makes this a fast and deadly force in Boarding Action games. You aren’t going to be generating a lot of long range death here, but that’s okay! You’ll mop-up in close.

Boarding Patrol: Necrons is a dispassionate force of mechanised warriors featuring 10 Necron Warriors, three Canoptek Scarab Swarms, 10 Lychguard – who can be built as Triarch Praetorians outside of Boarding Actions – and three Ophydian Destroyers with a Canoptek Plasmactyte. As well as advancing the narrative of Warhammer 40,000, this book includes significant expansions for the Boarding Actions game mode. Not only do Dark Depths missions allow you to mix up your battlefields, the book also introduces multiplayer games for three or four players – be they two-on-two team matches or exciting free-for-alls.The Corsair Voidscarred bring all the toys from their Kill Team set, taking up the lion’s share of the points but punching far above their weight with psychic powers, blasters, fusion pistols, and a shuriken cannon. The Voidreavers deploy light with a pistol and power sword each, but have the option of switching to long-ranged shuriken rifles should you be raiding an area with plenty of fighty foes like Tyranids and Orks. The Drukhari box is also a perfect pairing with the rest of the combo-boxes and even itself. You could grab two or three of these and have a murder ball of wyches at your disposal. Just grab some transports and you’re off to the races! This is a good start for new players or anyone looking to try out what makes Drukhari unique. Because this box does have Castellan Crowe you probably just want one copy. Still, if you’re looking to start this is a great box as you’ll get the ability to build in many different directions. Just plan your list out all the way before you commit to a particular Grey Knight unit type.

Quite how he’s getting around or why he’s conducting daring boarding actions is anyone’s guess, but he commands a kunnin’ krew of raucous Orks on his travels.
Tactically, boarding actions lists are all about navigating the new challenges of a space ship – and each mission brings fresh challenges,” Rich adds. “For example, which unit will you walk through a furnace to score Victory Points, and which unit do you task with guarding the OFF switch for said furnace?
