About this deal
I'm thinking that I can mitigate the heat/handling issue with some sort of neoprene cozy or something. The extraction it produces isn't quite as good as the Picopresso and it's less compact, but if you need it now, it's probably your best bet. When I was ready to make the coffee I found it best to fill the chamber with boiling water so that the extracted espresso shot was at a palatable temperature.
Wacaco Picopresso portable espresso machine review
Using the Italian Espresso National Institute metrics, this will in theory produce two 25ml cups of espresso. Also, despite its extra size, the Flair only has the same grind capacity as the Picopresso, so it won’t make larger batches either. I suggest using water straight off the boil for your preheating process and your brewing water for the best results. If you have arthritis, repetitive strain injury, or another source of joint pain in your hands, the Picopresso is probably not the best choice.

It’s compact and light, so it’s suitable for popping in your backpack or suitcase for enjoying incredible great coffee on the go. HUGH has evolved from making a basic plastic model of the Leverpresso to this high-end stainless steel Pro-model. The Picopresso takes an ultra-fine grind but if it’s too fine you’ll find it hard to push the hand-powered piston. This is the only stovetop espresso maker I am aware of that actually reaches 9 bars, the amount of pressure you need for true espresso.
