I doubt it may have something to do with my setup or headset, but the hiss is very apparent when the knob is halfway up.

To not have the Missus shoot me, I always run everything through my headphones, and using this freed up much space being used by my "practice" amp. I take the XLR outputs from the MG06X and run them through a Native Instruments Komplete Audio interface (gen 1) using 24bit/96KHz connected to my iPad when I want to fiddle with recording or other iOS apps on the iPad.It was my choice to go for portability as the units that have RCA ports were just enough larger to make them a bit unwieldy for my wife.
